How to boost online sales
You’ve got yourself a website, now what?
First thing is to make sure your website address appears on your letterhead, on your business cards, on your email signature, on your print advertising… get it out there at every opportunity.
Next, consider advertising on the Internet. Look for free and paid advertising sites to put an ad for your website. Set a budget of so many $’s per day. Give it a time frame, let’s say 3 months, and if the return isn’t working withdraw and reassess.
Try affiliate marketing. This can boost online sales because you trade advertising space with other website owners like yourself. If it doesn’t work you can always withdraw.
Put SEO content on your website. Search engine optimised articles will put your website higher in returned search engine results. Search Engine positioning, whilst it is important, it should not be highlighted to the detriment of every other marketing you have on the go and to the general operational efficiency of what makes money.
Design an easy to use website. Buyers become frustrated with a website that has many broken links or a confusing design set-up. Streamline your site to appeal to more buyers.
Give out as many details about your products as possible. Be sure to include pictures and detailed descriptions.
Genuine customer feedback is important, so when a happy customer contacts you, use their comments to reassure potential customers that you can deliver.
Send out a free gift with every purchase. Adding in a promotional item may tempt Internet users to purchase your products. Consider an item with your company’s name printed upon it.
Finally, consider using social networking sites (eg Twitter and Facebook) to boost sales. These sites are becoming increasingly important to accomplish such goals. The aim is to get people talking about you or your product – it takes networking to a whole new level.
